Masonic Lodge Officers
Freemasonry is globally accepted as one of the oldest fraternity in history of mankind. The Masonic Lodge Officers are appointed to take care of the daily lodge functioning. There are many officers working in specific jurisdictions of the Grand Lodges. There are many common factors to be considered when you choose to follow freemasonry.
A hierarchy of diverse officers is formed as per their titles under the authority of a sovereign from the Grand Lodge. Most lodges will have common rules of Freemasonry that are to be followed by the Masonic Lodge offices.
Past Master or the Worshipful Master is the most important person at the office. Corresponding to the rank the Grand Master has highest rank. There are certain rights enjoyed by the Grand Master and Past Masters.
Senior Warden is the second most important individual of the Lodge. The level of importance of Masonic Lodge Officers and their duties can vary with different jurisdictions.
Junior Warden is in-charge of the supervision especially during the meals and social gathering. Credentials and paperwork are under management of junior warden.
Masonic Lodge Officers also involve a treasurer who can take care of all the bills, payments, data collection.
Secretary does the job of summoning and providing statistical data, recording meetings, advising the Worshipful Master in many tasks.
Deacon is the Masonic Lodge officer on junior rank. The Senior Deacon and Junior
Deacon conduct ceremonies and even conduct candidates.
Stewards have many roles, especially of the junior assistant. The jurisdiction allots tasks like filling the position of the deacons in their absence. There is a need for assisting the deacons when candidates are being conducted around temple. Even the traditional role during meals and lodge meetings are handled by the stewards.
Other Masonic Lodge Officers involved in the Masonic activities are Tyler, Chaplain, Marshal, Almoner, Orator, Charity Steward and Poet Laureate.
