Freemasonry

Masonry or Freemasonry is known to be the oldest fraternity on our globe. Starting in the late 13th century, the historians have referred to masons as stone masons or even skilled workers who worked on special edifices. Now there are multiple Freemasonry centers worldwide and number of followers reaching new highs of six million.

The administrative organizations have Orients or Grand Lodges that have their own jurisdiction. Freemasonry groups are located as Grand Lodge of Scotland, United Grand Lodge of England and Grand Lodge of Ireland. These Grand Lodges and Grand Orients are independent bodies that govern Freemasonry in the specific country or area. Often known as a secret society, the masons have become more common now.

Based on charitable work and preoccupied with fraternal friendship maintenance the Freemasonry has become popular now. There are Masonic rituals that the masons follow as per their jurisdiction. Lessons of brotherly love, truth and relief are offered at the masons. Tolerance, self improvements, universal benevolence and civic responsibility are some of the masonry philosophies. Depicted by the symbolic tool of square and compass the masons have their own rituals and beliefs.

Degrees of Freemasonry are:

  • Entered apprentice – To join fraternity at a degree where very few can reach. You become a freemason with entered apprentice.
  • Fellow craft – Intermediate degree of learning.
  • Master Mason – Required for participation in masonry.
There is no restriction to join the masonry. Anyone can join the fraternity who is interested in charity and service. There are no persuasions for forming part of the fraternity. Truthful and moral conduct forms the lessons taught at the mason, you need to believe in a supreme being for becoming involved in Freemasonry. Religion and politics are far from anything discussed at the masons. If you have time to offer services and support others you can consider Freemasonry based on your personal choice.
